How to Prepare for the Treatment

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun for 4-6 weeks before the procedure.
  • Avoid Aspirin and Smoking: Refrain from these at least a week prior.
  • No Tanning: Ensure you don’t have a spray or artificial tan.
  • On the Day: Avoid applying creams, lotions, or moisturizers, and wear comfortable clothing.

The Treatment Process

During the procedure, the technician will use a small handheld device to deliver laser pulses to the treatment area. Some patients describe the sensation as similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Thanks to the dynamic cooling system, any discomfort is minimized. In some cases, a topical anesthetic may be applied. The treatment duration can vary from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated.

Post-Treatment Care

Immediately after the treatment, you may experience redness and swelling similar to a sunburn. This can be alleviated with ice and aloe vera. This sensation typically lasts from a few hours to two days. Post-treatment, avoid extreme heat, sun exposure, and exfoliating or irritating products. If you spend time in the sun, ensure you use plenty of sunscreen. Follow-up appointments should be scheduled 6-8 weeks apart.
